Katy Kung excited about lead role in new drama

21 Aug - Actress Katy Kung recently admitted that she is happy to be given the opportunity to play the lead in TVB's upcoming new drama.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who appeared at the wrap-up party for TVB's drama, "My Ages Apart", shared that she was worried at first about not getting any jobs, since her work seemed to have decreased this year.

Her last drama was "Two Steps from Heaven", which had won her Best Supporting Actress at the TVB Anniversary Awards.

"I will cherish this opportunity. Although shooting will only start in September, I have started doing my research and preparing for the role ever since "My Ages Apart" wrapped up," she said.

Although no information was given about the upcoming project, Katy shared that she will star opposite TVB actor Owen Cheung, of whom she worked with in "Come Home Love".

Katy also shared that the biggest challenge for her new drama is to learn how to swim.

"I have bought the necessities for my swimming lesson. The goal is to learn how not to drown in just a month," she said, lightheartedly.
