Kathryn Bernardo doesn't think "Darna" is for her
9 Apr – Kathryn Bernardo was recently named one of the fan favourites to replace Liza Soberano as the new Darna, but according to the actress, it is not just the kind of project for her.
As reported on PEP, the actress, who was asked about the recent development, shared that while it would be an honour, she is not the type of actress who would be able to do the character justice.
"Darna is such an iconic role. Every girl may be dreaming of playing her, but it's not for me. I imagine Darna as someone who is older than me, someone better, because she really is," she said.
Bernardo added that she will forever link the role to the original choice, Angel Locsin, who previously withdrew from the role due to her spinal injury.
Recently, ABS-CBN and Star Cinema released a joint-statement saying that Soberano has decided to withdraw from the project due to medical reasons.
Among other stars fans have been expressing interest to see donning the costume include Nadine Lustre and Jessy Mendiola.
