Kate Middleton Took a Sweet New Photo of Prince Louis for His Third Birthday
The littlest Cambridge is growing up so fast! Prince Louis, the youngest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge turns three years-old tomorrow, April 23. In honor of the special day, his parents released a new photo of the small prince.
The photo was taken on Wednesday at Kensington Palace just before Prince Louis left for his first day of pre-school at the Willcocks Nursery School. The Duchess of Cambridge, who has become something of a royal family photographer, snapped the shot.
"Three tomorrow!" wrote the Duke and Duchess. "Taken earlier this week by The Duchess before he left for his first day of nursery, The Duke and Duchess are pleased to share a new image of Prince Louis."
In the photo, Prince Louis grins while riding a red bicycle. He sports blue shorts, a navy sweater, and a blue and white collared shirt. It is also apparent that the young prince is headed to school, as he is carrying a blue backpack. The youngest Cambridge also looks ready to play in lime green and blue sneakers with crew socks. It's hard to believe how big Louis has gotten!
It has become a tradition for the Duchess of Cambridge to take photos of her children for their birthdays. The photography enthusiast also often snaps pictures for first days of school and other special occasions. Kate's penchant for being behind the camera has provided royal watchers with a behind-the-scenes look at Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
This year, it's likely that Prince Louis will have a quiet birthday. The COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing and the royal family continues to mourn the loss of Prince Philip, who died earlier this month. However, it seems that the Cambridges are making room for some fun nonetheless. Earlier this week, Kate was reportedly spotted shopping in London with Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Perhaps they were picking out a birthday gift for their youngest family member!
