The Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship is said to be strengthening, according to reports.

Rumours of a feud between Kate, 37, and Meghan, 37, began to surface at the end of last year, although it’s since been claimed that tensions were actually between brothers William and Harry.

Commentators said that the two women had very little in common, but it seems that since Meghan has become a mother to baby Archie, she and Kate have much more of a connection.

A royal source told PEOPLE: “There is a sense of [Meghan and Kate’s] relationship strengthening.

“They’re each a little more relaxed,” says the insider. “They have more in common now.”

The duchesses attended women’s final at Wimbledon last weekend and were spotted chatting as they watched the action from the royal box.

When Meghan’s friend Serena Williams lost the match, Kate reportedly rubbed her back to console her.

The royal women also watched their husbands play in a polo match just days before. Kate brought along her three children Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, four, and one-year-old Prince Louis, while Meghan cradled a two-month-old Archie.

And when Meghan made her first public appearance after the birth of baby Archie at Trooping the Colour, she shared the same carriage as husband Harry, Kate and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Their relationship has also been helped by the fact that the Sussexes moved out of Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor in April.

The source told PEOPLE that the move has provided distance that has helped the foursome reconnect, “allowing them more time to be like family” rather than colleagues.

Meghan and Harry officially split from their joint foundation with the Cambridges last month. The couple’s new charity name will be Sussex Royal, which was registered with Companies House on July 1, but has only just become public knowledge.
