Kate will attend the London premiere of A Street Cat Named Bob

She will attend in her capacity as patron of Action on Addiction, the charity that helps those suffering from problems of addiction. The film premiere is being held in honour of the charity.

A Street Cat Named Bob is based on the true story of young homeless busker James Bowen, who struck up an unlikely friendship with a stray ginger cat he christened Bob. James nursed the tomcat back to health after finding him curled up in the hallway of his sheltered accommodation, and the pair have been inseparable ever since.

Kate is expected to meet protagonist Luke Treadaway, who plays James in the film, and of course, Bob!

The Duchess, 34, has been a member of Action on Addiction since 2012. The charity works across the addiction field in treatment, professional education to honours degree level, support for families and children, research, and campaigns.

James, Luke and Bob have been on the promotional trail for their new film. As a teenager, James had a drug addiction and spent ten years on the streets before he was given a council flat in 2007, where he met Bob.

"If I hadn't met Bob I'd probably be dead or existing to survive," James told The Sun. "I had nothing, nobody. I had no reason before he came into my life."
