Karl Lagerfeld teams up with Aussie beauty brand ModelCo
The illustrious fashion designer of Chanel and Fendi acclaim adds another string to his multi-talented bow with Karl Lagerfeld + ModelCo, tipped to be one of 2018's most coveted beauty collections.
What can we expect? A "super fun, highly coveted and collectible collection," according to Shelley Sullivan, Founder and CEO of ModelCo, who added that the range, announced Tuesday, will be a mash-up of ModelCo's high-quality formulas and innovative, technical packaging and what she termed Karl Lagerfeld's "unmistakable artistic aesthetic that's sophisticated, modern and cool."
The limited edition range of smart, innovative and collectable beauty products will channel the theme of "Illuminated Beauty."
Karl Lagerfeld + ModelCo will be available in early 2018 Karl Lagerfeld stores worldwide, on Karl.com, and additionally via ModelCo's premium distribution network, modelcocosmetics.com, and top-tier beauty retailers.
"Through this collaboration we can offer our consumers a glimpse into how we translate the Karl Lagerfeld vision and aesthetic into unique cosmetics. We look forward to developing the collection and combining our signature DNA with innovative, cutting-edge beauty products for all women," commented Pier Paolo Righi, Karl Lagerfeld CEO.
The designer's all-encompassing eponymous brand portfolio includes ready-to-wear for men and women, children's wear, bags and small leather goods.
Additional ranges include watches, eyewear, footwear, perfumes, candles and fashion jewelry.
Last year, the company launched the Karl Lagerfeld Paris label, offering Parisian-inspired styles to North America, and are also venturing into bridal fine jewelry and men's tailoring in North America this year.
