Karena Ng becomes more private post-breakup
25 Apr – Hong Kong actress Karena Ng recently admitted that she has learned to be more careful about sharing too much about her personal life since breaking up with boyfriend Raymond Lam last year.
The actress, who sat down for an interview with Mingpao, stated that she was very open about her relationship with Raymond in the past, and didn't think too much about the repercussions when they were constantly followed around by the paparazzi.
"I wanted to have my own space, but there was nothing I could do. There was always news about us. I didn't want it, and I still don't want it," she said.
She also dismissed the idea that she and Raymond were incompatible, saying that timing was the biggest problem that led to their breakup.
"As you grow older, your mentality will change. You have different ideas about what kind of companionship you need," she said, adding that they were spending too much time apart than with one another.
Although she is single now, the 25-year-old actress said that she would like to get married at the age of 30.
"Forty would be too old. My mum doesn't want me to marry so late. Thirty is the ideal age to have children. I see how friends take care of their children. It takes a lot of energy and very tiring. But I won't dare talk too much about this. I may change my mind, and my future partner may have a different opinion about it," she said.
