Kara Hui says no to drugs

26 Jun – Kara Hui considered herself lucky for never having surrounded herself with drug users, which enabled her to have a smooth-sailing career.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who appeared at an Anti-Drug campaign in Hong Kong recently, shared that she is a "no means no" kind of person who has seen lots of people losing their lives from drug abuse when she was young.

"I have seen someone died of drug overdose. I am turning 60 soon, and I have never seen a person who was able to quit drugs just by saying they want to quit. It's a very challenging process," she said.

When mentioned that the entertainment industry is a large vat for drug abuse, Kara said that she was never one to get influenced into doing such a thing.

"Maybe I am just an upright person. I never saw anybody use drugs [at work]," she said.

On the other hand, Kara revealed that Emperor Motion Pictures' Chairman Albert Yeung is planning to hold a party for her 60th birthday next year.

"I rarely celebrate my birthday, but this is my 60th, so I will celebrate it in Hong Kong," she said.
