Kanye West Tells Apple CEO Tim Cook to Give Jay Z ‘His Check for Tidal Now’

Kanye West demanded that Apple CEO Tim Cook make a deal with Jay Z for Tidal in typical Kanye West fashion — a series of tweets that he rattled off on Saturday.

“Apple give Jay his check for Tidal now and stop trying to act like you Steve [Jobs],” Kanye wrote.

The tweets confirm earlier reports that Apple is in negotiations to acquire Tidal, the streaming service owned by Jay Z. By the sound of it, the negotiations have hit some roadblocks.

“This Tidal Apple beef is f—king up the music game,” Kanye wrote. “I need Tim Cook Jay Z Dez Jimmy Larry me and Drake Scooter on the phone or in a room this week!!!”

The musician has made appeals to the Silicon Valley elite over Twitter in the past to no apparent avail. Still, he wrote, “F—k all this d—k swinging contest. We all gon be dead in 100 Years. Let the kids have the music.”

Since its launch, Tidal has gone through three different CEOS, and in March, the company booted its COO and CFO as well. Apple is no stranger to flashy acquisitions having acquired Dr. Dre-backed Beats Electronics just over two years ago for $3 billion.
