If you’ve been on the internet recently, you may have noticed new Kanye drama afoot. Normally, such drama can be boiled down to a sentence or two, like "Kanye has a signed MAGA hat," or, "Kanye thinks slavery was a choice." But this latest incident features his wife Kim Kardashian, the rapper and philanthropist Rhymefest, and all of the youth of Chicago, so it might need a bit more explaining.

Frequent Kanye collaborator Rhymefest-who co-wrote "Jesus Walks"-founded with West the nonprofit Donda’s House. The Chicago-based youth arts organization is named named for Kanye’s late mother, Dr. Donda West. The group purchased Kanye’s childhood home, and are raising money to turn it into an arts center. In a Facebook post, Donda’s House wrote: "As we seek support to convert Kanye’s childhood home into a recording studio, museum and learning space – we have been unable to secure the financial support of Kanye despite multiple attempts, and despite those early conversations about his plan of support and advocacy for the youth in our programs." Rhymefest followed up with a tweet:

(Rhymefest directed his request at Drake rather than an artist from Chicago in order to cleverly capitalize on existing Kanye-Drake beef.)

All this sparked a tweetstorm from Kim. Highlights included:

In response, Rhymefest posted a written statement, before Donda’s House announced that it will be changing its name.

So there it is, the latest Kardashian-West dustup. It’s more complicated than its recent forebears, but it’s got one thing in common with them: It’s left people very unhappy with Kanye and Kim.
