Kaman Kong blasts allegations of scam
17 Sep – TVB actress Kaman Kong has recently taken to social media to deny allegations that she has cheated on her boyfriend with another man, who in turn was cheated off his money by her as well.
As reported on Mingpao, the issue first sparked when a certain man (known only as Mr. X) revealed a series of WhatsApp text messages between him and Kaman, saying that the actress was fooling around with him and asked him for HKD 500,000 to invest in a business.
He also accused her of using the said business scheme to lie to her boyfriend Anthony and go to Japan with him instead.
Angered by the allegations, Kaman took to Instagram Story to share her side of the story, saying that Mr X, who claimed to be Edison Chen's business partner, has edited the said WhatsApp messages to make it seem like she was in the wrong instead of showing everybody the actual conversation.
"This isn't the first time he has harassed us and our friends. After I made the post, my friends told me to be careful," she wrote.
As for his allegation that Kaman cheated him into going to Japan with her, the actress said, "He once said he is opening a company and wanted to invite artistes to go to Japan. I told him I can't go just because he opened up a company, that he has to prepare the complete information so that I could bring it to TVB and have my manager work on the schedule and price. I told my boyfriend about it, and he agreed with my action. But now [Mr X] said I cheated him out of money to treat me to a vacation."
Speaking to the media after her Instagram rant, Kaman said that she had been scolded by TVB Executive Virginia Lok about the issue.
As for Mr X, she said, "I don't know his motives. But I believe in people too easily, so I really think this is a valuable lesson for me," she said.
