Kai Ko's film postponed in HK due to resurgence of COVID-19 cases

22 Jul – Kai Ko's dream of seeing his 2014 movie finally hitting theatres is thwarted again, following the resurgence of COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong that has led to the government tightening its restriction order.

As reported on Mingpao, Kai Ko's movie "A Choo", which was originally slated to be shown in Hong Kong cinemas on 16 July, postponed its release yet again after another restriction order was imposed on social venues that include restaurants and theatres to curb the pandemic.

The actual release date is yet to be announced.

In a video message sent to fans, Kai expressed his support and encouragement to the public in their fight against the recurring outbreak, saying that it does not matter that the film has been postponed again as the public's health is much more important.

"There will be opportunities to meet in the future. Safety first, health first, and pandemic prevention first. See you soon on "A Choo"," he said.

"A Choo", which was produced by Angie Chai in 2014 and co-stars Ariel Lin, was shelved for a long time following Kai's previous drug scandal. He recently shed tears at the press conference of the said movie in Hong Kong, saying that he was relieved that the movie is finally seeing the light of day following his past mistake.

So far, there's no word yet on whether the Taiwanese movie will also be postponed in other markets.
