Amidst this crazy busy week with a couple of launches in town – namely, Art SG, Southeast Asia’s largest art fair and the recent opening of Acne Studios in Marina Bay Sands – Singapore is also celebrating the reopening of the Gentle Monster Ion Orchard store with CLC's Sorn and Got7 member BamBam.

Gentle Monster is South Korea's popular eyewear brand, founded in 2011. The brand is known for its idea of high-end experimentation of style, services and even space installations. Most recently, the brand has collaborated with professional footballer Son Heung Min for its Bold line.

At the store reopening yesterday (12 January), Sorn and BamBam shared their love for sunglasses and were ecstatic about working together for the first time outside of South Korea. The singers – both of Thai descent – matched their outfits in black and donned Gentle Monster sunglasses.

"I love (sic) that it's really clean in Singapore and I had chicken rice last night and today," BamBam gushed to Sorn. He added, "I don't know if this is a Singapore thing but you guys know Haidilao? My first Haidilao was in Singapore and a lot of countries have Haidilao branches but (sic) don't taste like Singapore's. There's something different about Singapore; I think it's the memories."

BamBam is the second Got7 member to visit Singapore recently after singer Jackson Wang. Wang put on a sold-out solo concert last December and was in town in August to promote his Team Wang - Mudance collection at the Club21 pop-up at Voco Orchard.

After some short interviews, the duo continued to show some members of the press different Gentle Monster sunglasses in style and colours before stepping out to meet a couple of guests like host Sonia Chew, Yoyo Cao and singer Yung Raja.

Gentle Monster Ion Orchard store will be stocking lines from both the Gentle and Bold collections, and their refurbished store features a giant eye, a futuristic robot and a life-sized ant.

Gentle Monster is at ION Orchard (#01-13 ION Orchard, 2 Orchard Turn) and Marina Bay Sands (2 Bayfront Avenue, #B2-103/104/105).
