South Korean boy band BTS will be coming to Singapore to perform at the National Stadium on 19 January next year, as part of their Love Yourself world tour.

Concert promoter Live Nation announced the K-pop heartthrobs’ planned visit to Singapore on social media on Wednesday (10 October), calling it BTS’ first mega concert in the city-state.

BTS’ agency, BigHit Entertainment, also announced other stops on the tour, which include Taoyuan in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Bangkok.

Ticketing details have yet to be released.

BTS’ popularity has spread far beyond their home country. They just won the Favourite Social Artist award at the American Music Awards on Wednesday, beating out Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and Shawn Mendes.

The band also gave a speech to the United Nations General Assembly in New York last month to launch the youth initiative Generation Unlimited, a scheme aiming to offer education, training and employment to young people around the world by 2030.

BTS performed in Singapore last year at the Music Bank World Tour, which included other K-pop acts such as CN Blue and Red Velvet.
