Justin Timberlake cried when he watched the Trolls movie

From time to time it’s good to see Hollywood’s elite prove they’re just as human as the rest of us, so Justin Timberlake shedding a tear is just what we needed, right?

While JT’s not strictly A-list acting talent, he is one of the biggest stars in the world for his music career but is gradually getting more involved in the glitz and glamour of movies each year.

2016 saw him star in DreamWorks’ animated hit ‘Trolls’ as well as write and perform the soundtrack song Can’t Stop the Feeling! as he assumed the film’s music executive producer credit too.

But in a recent interview with Deadline, the star who’s had parts in ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’, ‘Runner Runner’, and is in Woody Allen’s next film project, admitted when he watched the movie back he did let a few tears slip out.

“True Colours [is] a beautiful song, and it’s a huge emotional moment in the film,” he said.

“And so I’m watching it and I’m like, ‘Am I … crying? At myself?’ I thought my only opportunity to do that was, like, a bottle of Jack Daniel’s and a mirror!”

Turns out Justin’s got a rather sensitive side to him, but there’s absolutely no shame in anyone crying, let’s be honest. The emotions came when he watched back a scene that, as he cited, featured Cindi Lapuer’s True Colours.

So there we have it, celebs do have feelings just like you and I.

‘Trolls’ is based on those popular, funky-haired plastic figures from the 1990s. Surprisingly, the film opened to a strong first weekend in the US and while it’s been out in the UK and other territories for a few weeks, it has taken an impressive $150 million so far.

The film features an all-star lineup of voice acting talent that includes Anna Kendrick, Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Gwen Stefani, John Cleese, James Corden, Quvenzhané Wallis, and Russell Brand.

‘Trolls’ is in UK cinemas now.
