Justin Cheung wants to make more movies

26 Apr – Now that his documentary film is released, aspiring filmmaker Justin Cheung revealed that he is planning to direct a commercial movie in the future.

As reported on Singtao, Justin who is son of actor-producer Alfred Cheung, spoke to the media of his plans at the charity screening of "YAYA", a documentary about the relationship between him and Aunty Tessie, his Filipino caretaker.

"For now, the most important thing is to learn more about the industry, get to know more people and gain more experience," he said.

Justin admitted that he now realized how difficult it is to become a filmmaker after making the documentary.

"What I learned in school is a bit different from reality. I am just lucky to have a good team," he said.

When asked what was the most challenging part of making the documentary, Justin said that going to the Philippines to shoot Aunty Tessie's family was the hardest, since they are not used to facing the camera.

"There was a tension in the beginning, but it became easier once we established trust," he said.

Asked if he consulted his father before he made the movie, Alfred chimed in and jokingly said, "Yes, but he wouldn't listen."
