Two of next year’s most-anticipated cinematic supergroups are teaming up, but this collaboration won’t be on the big screen. The Justice League and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will unite in a limited-edition comic series arriving in January.

This Justice League lineup will differ slightly from the movie version, with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Cyborg being joined by Green Lantern John Stewart instead of Aquaman. The Power Rangers will be in their usual rainbow grouping of Black, Red, Yellow, Pink, Blue, and Green.

According to the synopsis jointly released by the characters’ respective publishers, DC Comics and Boom! Studios, the plot will involve some alternate universe hopping.

Something terrible has happened in Angel Grove when the Power Rangers’ Command Center is breached and the teleporters are damaged! Zack the Black Ranger is flung into an alternate universe full of citizens possessing outrageous powers and wearing strange costumes. Will Jason the Red Ranger, Trini the Yellow Ranger, Kimberly the Pink Ranger, Billy the Blue Ranger and Tommy the Green Ranger be able to get to Zack in time to save him from Batman?

There will be six monthly issues, all written by Tom Taylor (best known for writing Injustice: Gods Among Us) and illustrated by Stephen Byrne. Each issue will also feature a variant cover pairing members of the iconic teams: Batman/Pink Ranger; Cyborg/Blue Ranger; Flash/Black Ranger; Green Lantern John Stewart/Yellow Ranger; Superman/Green Ranger; Wonder Woman/Red Ranger.

The comic-book crossover will no doubt help hype the upcoming films. Power Rangers, starring Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Banks, and Bill Hader, is set to arrive March 24, 2017, while Justice League, whose cast includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher, comes out Nov. 17, 2017.
