Just a Casual Super Juicy Guide to Matt James’s Season of ‘The Bachelor’
Hands up if you are embarrassing levels of excited about Matt James’s season of The Bachelor airing tonight?! Truly same. Like, my therapist is concerned for me. But anyway! This season is a little different thanks to the major lack of spoilers (usually the winner is known by now!), but thanks to some stalking sleuthing, we do know a bit about what to expect going into Matt's ~love journey~.
It’s Was Filmed at a Resort in Pennsylvania
We found out this nugget of info thanks to Bachelor spoiler source and unsung hero Reality Steve, who broke the news that Matt would be filming at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Pennsylvania back in August:
(SPOILER): Might not be “Bachelorette,” but got some Matt James “Bachelor” filming news. His season will be filmed at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in PA, beginning end of Sept.
Same place they stayed in ep 4 of JoJo’s season. The one where Bad Chad got eliminated on his 2-on-1.— RealitySteve (@RealitySteve) August 21, 2020
Like, there are worse places to be trapped for several months on end. See: my apartment.
It Was a Closed Set
Meaning no one was allowed in or out due to coronavirus safety protocols. ABC learned this the hard way during Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams’ season of The Bachelorette, when host Chris Harrison left set to drop his kid off at college and then had to be replaced as host during a brief quarantine.
The closed set is actually one of the reasons there are so few spoilers this season—usually Bachelor dates take place in public, but this season everyone just spent their time making out in hot tubs:

This Season Is Among the Most Racially Diverse Ever
Amid calls for increased representation, both on the show and behind the scenes, ABC appears to have cast a pretty diverse group of women, and all of them have super fun bios. Get to know Matt's contestants below:
One of Matt’s Exes Is on the Show
Literally screaming at ABC pulling this move, but Matt’s ex Madison Nelson is allegedly a contestant this season—which is inevitably going to lead to a ton of drama. According to Reality Steve, Matt and Madison dated back when Matt’s BFF Tyler Cameron was with Gigi Hadid, and there’s even photo evidence:
Some tea for you already: Apparently Madison Nelson was dating Matt last summer when Tyler was seeing GiGi. Went to one of the fashion shows with him. Here they are together. Heard they were together for at least a couple months. pic.twitter.com/Jbb8xrb2Cx

The Bachelor's Heather Martin Is Back
You might remember Hannah Brown's best friend Heather from when she competed on Colton Underwood's season and got her very first kiss. Unclear why she's on Matt's season, but Reality Steve says she shows up mid-way through and gets eliminated that same day. Awk.
Cynthia Rowley’s Daughter Is Competing?!?
Well, this is a first! We don't usually get celeb kids on this show, but fashion designer Cynthia Rowley’s daughter Kit Keenan is one of Matt’s contestants. And psst: for everyone who thinks she’s just on the show to be an influencer—at over 40k followers, she already is, friend.
Wells Adams Will Be on the Show
The sleuths behind @bachdetective discovered this after matching a frame in the background of one of Wells' Instagram posts to a frame in one of the rooms at Nemacolin. THEIR MINDS!
Make sure to watch The Bachelor on Monday nights, and FYI we'll be updating this with spoilers from the season as they roll in.
