Dino-Mite New Clues About 'Jurassic World' Finally Emerge

Universal quietly launched a clever bit of online marketing for its upcoming Jurassic World: A faux company website that offers up new details about the film, all under the guise of providing information about the fictional Masrani Global Corp.

Visitors are greeted by a somber homepage that prominently features Masrani’s CEO — played by Life of Pi star Irrfan Khan) — and provides background info on the mega-corporation, which acquired ownership of InGen (and its failed Jurassic Park) in 1998. The site has a whole lot of contextual fluff, and careful scrutiny yields some interesting tidbits about the fully functional park that will be at the heart of director Colin Trevorrow’s movie, which stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, and which will be released on June 12, 2015.

According to the site, Jurassic World has become a massive theme park and vacation destination, a sort of science-infused Disney World on an isolated island:

This jibes with what Trevorrow told SlashFilm in an interview back in May, when he revealed that John Hammond’s dream had finally been realized:

Jurassic World takes place in a fully functional park on Isla Nublar. It sees more than 20,000 visitors every day,” he said. “It has elements of a biological preserve, a safari, a zoo, and a theme park. There is a luxury resort with hotels, restaurants, nightlife and a golf course. And there are dinosaurs. Real ones.”

As for how they made those dinosaurs, the site also gives some insight into the groundbreaking new (fake) science. BD Wong (below) returns to the film to play dino-scientist Dr. Wu, who has a much bigger role in this distant sequel.

You can learn more about their process at this detailed page (above), in case you want to make your own hybrid dinos, which clearly seems to be the plan of Masrani Global.

These are just a few of the clues we gleaned from a quick look at the site — a closer reading will surely unearth more nuggets.

As for the film itself, its much anticipated trailer will be unveiled on Thanksgiving Day — the official Jurassic World website offers a running countdown to the big event.
