JUNGSAEMMOOL tells us what distinguishes her flagship in Singapore from other K-beauty salons here

K-beauty fans, there’s a new kid on the block in Singapore. It’s JUNGSAEMMOOL’s newly opened flagship at Scotts Road, a stone’s throw away from Newton MRT Station.

If you’re not into K-beauty, JUNGSAEMMOOL is owned and run by Ms Jung Sae Mmool, an iconic makeup artist in South Korea. With 33 years of experience in the industry, Jung has done makeup for leading celebrities such as Jun Ji-Hyun, Tang Wei, and Song Hye-Kyo.

When considering opening a flagship store outside Korea, Singapore was the only place that came to Ms Jung’s mind, said Judy Kim, JUNGSAEMMOOL’s Brand Manager.

“To [Ms Jung], Singapore is one of the best places in the world where Eastern and Western values are well-blended in terms of diversity,” said Kim. She added that it had taken Ms Jung nearly 2 years to find the ideal location at 27 Scotts Road before it finally became available.

Upon entering the store, a W-shaped structure featuring the brand’s best-known products greets you. The platform is inspired by Jung’s hand movements whilst holding her brush.

What’s on Level 1 of the JUNGSAEMMOOL Store?

The 1st floor is home to the retail space. The store stocks only JUNGSAEMMOOL products.

Looking for concealer to cover your blemishes? Go with the Essential Skin Nuder Cushion [SPF 50+/PA +++] (14g*2) (S$52). While you are at it, get the Essential Mool Cleansing Water (300ml) (S$35) to remove your makeup and cleanse your skin.

There is also an academy on the 1st floor. Makeup lessons are taught here by accredited instructors. They include Ms Jung herself, who will only be available when her schedule permits.

If in doubt, go with the 1 day-long JUNGSAEMMOOL’s exclusive course (S$2,000). Covering Personal Colour/Key 7 Theory, the course is for both beginners and professionals.

Hidden behind the retail space is the M Space that will be used for exhibitions, artist collaborations and exclusive events. It serves as a platform for creative expression.

What’s on Level 2?

Then there’s the lounge area on the 2nd floor where customers can take a break while waiting for their family member or friend to finish their makeover. The view here is fantastic.

On the 2nd floor is the JUNGSAEMMOOL Salon. It offers haircut, hairstyling and makeup services. The area comes with cubicles, so you don’t have to worry about a lack of privacy.

The Singapore flagship recruited its hair designer and makeup artist directly from the JUNGSAEMMOOL Salon in Seoul. Kim informed us that they have expertise in styling Hallyu stars.

Unlike other local K-beauty salons, JUNGSAEMMOOL’s flagship is the only one that includes a retail store, salon and academy all under one roof for an immersive experience, she added.

You can’t go wrong with the Makeup + Hair (Senior Artist – S$500 / Ms Jung – S$2,000) package. Like the academy, make a reservation before you head down.
