Jung Ho-Yeon to make big screen debut in Na Hong-Jin's movie

31 Mar – Korean model-actress Jung Ho-Yeon is set to star alongside Michael Fassbender ("X-Men: First Class") and Alicia Vikander ("Ex Machina") in the Korean thriller, "Hope".

This will be Jung's first big screen project since she made a name playing Kang Sae-Byeok in the 2021 hit Netflix series, "Squid Game".

The actress will play a policewoman Sung-Ae in the movie.

"Hope" will be helmed by Na Hong-Jin, who is most famous for his 2016 movie, "The Wailing". Coincidentally, this is also Na's first movie since the aforementioned film.

"Everything about Ho-Yeon aligned with what I envisioned for Sung-Ae," said the director. "Her bold, bright energy will be a great source of strength for this film."

The movie also hires cinematographer Hong Kyung-Pro, most known for his work in "Parasite".

Although the movie will star Hollywood celebrity couple Fassbender and Vikander, it is largely filmed in Korean, and will follow the residents of Hopo Port, where a mysterious discovery is made on the outskirts of the remote harbour town.
