2 Dec – Judy Ann Santos was recently honoured with the Best Actress accolade at the 41st Cairo International Film Festival.
As reported on PEP News, the actress, who won for her role in Brillante Mendoza's "Mindanao", shared the good news on Instagram on 30 November.
She wrote, "When I woke up this morning, I was surprised and wondered why my best friends were texting me congratulations. I wasn't pregnant, I wasn't involved in SEA Games, and I didn't lottery either. [It turns out], I won [something better] than the lotto!"
Santos said that she thought she was dreaming it until she received a call from the director himself who confirmed the news.
She also thanked Mendoza for his trusting her to play the role in the said movie, as well as her family and friends for their support.
"Thank you so much to all of you who continue to believe and trust in my little skills as an artiste and cook, and to all those whom I made the film, this is for all of us!" she added.
