  • JoJo Siwa came out by wearing a "Best Gay Cousin Ever" shirt.

  • JoJo also shared a TikTok of her singing "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga.

JoJo Siwa was born this way. Fans began to wonder if JoJo singing the Lady Gaga hit song on TikTok was her way of letting the world know that she's part of the LGBTQ+ community. In the video, she dances to the track that was inspired by music that empowered women and the gay community in the '90s. She mouths the lyrics, "No matter gay, straight, or bi, lesbian, transgender life, I'm on the right track baby, I was born to survive."

If that wasn't enough of a statement, she recently tweeted a photo of her wearing a "Best Gay Cousin Ever" t-shirt. "My cousin got me a new shirt," she wrote. Ellen DeGeneres replied with a heart to her tweet and Perez Hilton tweeted, "Gay icon!!!!"

Even though JoJo didn't explicitly come out as gay, she's been retweeting congratulatory messages from her friends and fans. The news came out of the blue since she hasn't been publically linked to anyone romantically since her breakup with Mark Bontempo. She announced their split last year in an Instagram comment captured by the account @TikTokRoom. "

"Mark doesn't deserve hateful things like this," she wrote. "He deserves to have people support him. You have NO idea about Mark and I's relationship. How much fun it was. How happy we both were, and how happy we both are. We decided it's best for us to not be in a relationship...that's all. Still friends, I still have his back and he has mine....He is not toxic. We're teenagers. And our relationship didn't work out right now. He did nothing. I did nothing. Just better being friends. Relax."

Considering the fact that she announced her breakup on Instagram, it's not surprising that she would also come out on social media. Her tweet has already gotten more than one million likes and she's receiving positive responses from fans. One fan wrote a message that JoJo retweeted: "if you don't think jojo siwa coming out as gay is a big deal; just remember that there are lgbt kids that watch her videos that may have felt so alone with their identity and seeing the person they look up to coming out makes them feel safer and more comfortable with themselves."
