John Lloyd Cruz is now a Kapuso

10 Nov – It is now official. John Lloyd Cruz has joined his onscreen partner Bea Alonzo in becoming a Kapuso.

The news was revealed by GMA Network on 9 November via its official Twitter account, with photos from the contract signing event attended by the actor as well as GMA Films president Annette Gozon Valdez and director Edgar Mortiz.

"Welcome back, John Lloyd Cruz!" the caption read.

Valdez also shared several photos from the event, which showed several Kapuso stars welcoming the said actor, including Primetime King Dingdong Dantes and wife Marian Rivera, actress Bianca Umali, Alden Richards, as well as Bea Alonzo herself, who joined the network earlier this year.

"Finally! Welcome John Lloyd Cruz! We're grateful for the trust," Valdez posted.

Rumours of John Lloyd joining GMA has been swirling since early this year, and was further fuelled by Bea joining the network.

John Lloyd, who had been a Kapamilya since his debut, announced his hiatus from showbiz in 2017 to focus on his relationship with Ellen Adarna and the subsequent birth of their son Elias. The two have since separated.

He is also currently under Maja Salvador's talent management agency, Crown Artist Management.
