Polar Planet
This year's Polar Planet theme has a distinct Scandi feel about it. Cosy, calming neutral tones and natural-feeling materials are incorporated into the accessories, such as wood and faux foliage.
Winter Fairytale
This theme features a warming colour palette of more traditional red and green tones. Ideal for a country or cottage style set up, or for anyone who prefers classic decor.
Rainbow Time Capsule
At the other end of the spectrum, the Rainbow Time Capsule trend embraces bold tones and retro materials. Shimmering baubles come in a range of textures including shiny balloon-style pieces, rough glitter and tactile satin.
Beyond
Another far-out trend this year is what John Lewis is describing as 'Beyond'. The futuristic theme embraces space and technology, including decorations in the shape of robots and those featuring star signs.
Royal Fairytale
Another more classic look, the Royal Fairytale trend embraces regal emblems such as lions and elephants. In terms of its colour palette, expect jewel tones and plenty of gold.
