Imagine rushing to get to a train in an ordinary morning commute, when you suddenly hear the voice of one of the most popular musicians on the planet. That’s exactly what happened for a bunch of commuters at the St. Pancras train station in London this morning who John Legend surprised.

The lucky London commuters were treated to an impromptu performance from John Legend as they scurried to their trains. Though, to be fair, many of them stopped their scurrying to enjoy the show once they realized what was happening.

And Legend didn’t just sing. He also played piano along with his songs.

Before arriving, Legend had given a little hint that he’d be in the area via a cryptic tweet.

But even with the tweet, few people could have guessed he’d actually stop and sing some of his most popular tunes.

John certainly celebrated International Piano Day in style.

He sang “Ordinary People,” “All of Me,” and a hit from his new Darkness and Light record, “Surefire.”

But don’t fret if you weren’t one of the lucky commuters who got to experience the intimate performance for yourself. Legend was also promoting his upcoming concert dates. And he’s giving away tickets to many of his shows.

Leave it to the wonderful John Legend to do something so awesome for his fans. So next time you hear some good live music on your morning commute, be sure and check it out since it might be something truly Legend-ary.
