10 Sep – Winner of Cinemalaya's Best Full-Length Picture, "John Denver Trending" is set to feature at the 24th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

As reported on Rappler, the news was shared by the studio on social media, stating that the film will be competing in the New Currents Section of the said festival against other films from countries like Iran, South Korea, Vietnam, Japan, China, and India.

"Requiring a world premiere status most of the time, the festival made an exception of allowing our film to compete even if it has already premiered in the Philippines. This is also the first Filipino film to be selected in the section after 5 years," the studio added.

The film, which stars Jansen Magpusao in the titular role, revolves around a male student who is cyberbullied after being accused of stealing a classmate's iPad.

The 24th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) will be running from 3 to 12 October.
