Everybody loves a good bowl of mee pok. JOFA Mee Pok has opened their second outlet at Chinatown on 4 June 2022, with some outlet-exclusive menu items.
Premium Seafood Mince Meat Noodles (S$13.50) may seem to have an exorbitant price tag, but that’s because of the many luxurious ingredients the mee pok has. It contains a whole fried soft shell crab, two types of eggs – tobiko and onsen egg, clams, scallops and abalone slices. It has a premium price tag, but also premium ingredients.
Fried Bomba Stick (S$3), which is word play on the word bombastic, is a side dish made from deep frying mee pok noodles. This causes the noodles to be light and crispy, which is good to be paired with drinks, or even by itself. It comes with three different pairings: condensed milk, spicy seaweed seasoning and mala seasoning.
They also offer their Signature Minced Meat Noodle (S$6.50/S$8.50) at the Chinatown outlet, which contains scallops, clams and abalone slices, and the usual mee pok ingredients. There are also generous crispy lard pieces scattered about that adds fragrance to the noodles.
JOFA Mee Pok’s Signature Fried Fish Sticks (S$3.50) is like a combination of tau kee (beancurd skin) and fish paste. This crispy delicacy is not oily at all, and is usually finished in a manner of minutes.
With the shop boasting so many delicacies, and garnering raving reviews of the likes of Xiaxue, one must go down to see what JOFA Mee Pok offers. They also open until 2am, thus it is a good supper spot. As a mee pok lover, this is definitely on my to-eat list.
