Joel Chan expresses condolences over Stanley Ho's passing
27 May – Joel Chan recently expressed his condolences to the Ho family, following news that Macau casino tycoon Stanley Ho had passed away.
As reported on Mingpao, the TVB actor, who dated the billionaire's daughter Florinda Ho in the past, stated that his passing will be a great loss to many, being China's father of modern gambling.
"I hope that he will have a peaceful journey," he added.
Asked about his history with the casino tycoon, Joel said that he would rather not talk about it anymore.
As to whether he had extended his condolences to the Ho family himself, Joel responded, "I don't want to disturb anyone at this time."
Joel and Florinda started dating in the early 2010s, with their romance sparking a lot of controversy due to the actor's unclear marital status at the time and accusations about his intention towards the wealthy heiress. The couple ended their relationship in 2013.
Stanley Ho, founder of current Macau operator SJM Holdings Ltd, passed away on 26 May at the age of 98. He is survived by 14 children from four wives.
