Jodi Sta. Maria to star in "Doctor Foster" adaptation

10 May – After many speculations, it was revealed that Jodi Sta. Maria has been cast as the lead in the Filipino adaptation of the British drama, "Doctor Foster".

As reported on ABS-CBN, the actress, who spoke about her role in the series, which has been titled, "The Broken Marriage Vow", stated that she was in disbelief after receiving a call from her manager that she was offered the role.

"I was like, "Is this a joke? Is this real?" I couldn't believe it. And now we're doing a Philippine adaptation, and the role was offered to me. It's a surreal moment for me," she said.

Sta. Maria also admitted that she feels a lot of pressure to do well, especially since audiences are already familiar with the Korean version of the drama, "The World of the Married".

Sta. Maria will play the role of Jill Ilustre, a community doctor whose life turns upside down after finding out about her husband's infidelity. She is joined by Zanjoe Marudo, Sue Ramirez, and Zaijian Jaranilla.

The project will be helmed by "Malaya" director Concepcion Macatuno.
