JJ Jia receives fewer projects since becoming a mother

13 Nov – JJ Jia recently admitted that she hasn't been doing a lot of acting work since giving birth to her first child with husband Louis Fan in 2018.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who appeared at the premiere of her new movie, "Missing" alongside lead actress Gillian Chung and Candice Yu, stated that a lot of productions prefer using newcomers in their films nowadays, which makes it harder for someone like her.

"I really have a lot fewer jobs nowadays. I am not that young anymore, and I also have to take care of my child so the opportunities have become scarce," she said.

However, JJ said that there is a silver lining to all of this, as she is now given roles that are much more mature and experienced compared to her previous work.

On the other hand, when asked if she would have another baby now that her daughter is turning two, JJ responded jokingly, "I received fewer jobs with the first one. If I have another, I would be unemployed."

"I won't think about it for now. Work comes first. I will let nature take its course," she added.

JJ was also asked about the controversy surrounding her previous manager Natalis Chan, who was accused of neglecting some of the artistes under his banner.

She responded, "I don't know much about it as I have been very busy taking care of my child. I don't even have his number. But I never felt that way before. I never thought about it."
