Jiro Wang apologises following backlash on lack of gaming ability

16 Jul - Jiro Wang has recently released a statement of apology after angering video games fans with his lacklustre ability at playing a new game, as well as to deny allegations that he supports the Taiwan independence movement.

As reported on ET Today, the issue sparked last week when the former Fahrenheit member, who was hired to endorse a mobile game, played the game so poorly during the live broadcast that it drew the ire of fans of the game and gamers alike, who then accused the singer of being unprofessional.

Somehow, the criticism against Jiro expanded further, with some brought up the previous rumour that he supposedly gave his support for the independence of Taiwan.

In response to the backlash, the singer took to Weibo and apologised for his lack of preparation for the live broadcast, saying that he is sorry to those he hurt and the ones deeply affected during the process.

"I also noticed that some netizens have started questioning my personal views and opinion. I reiterate this: I have always been Chinese. My ancestral home is Guangdong and that has never changed."

His personal studio had also since released a statement saying that Jiro is a firm supporter of the One China policy.
