Jiro Mania arrested in Marikina
22 Jan – Former child actor Jiro Manio has recently been arrested for frustrated homicide, as reported on Push.
On 17 January, the 27-year-old actor was alleged to have attempted to injure a certain Zeus Doctolero in Barangay San Roque in Marikina with a knife for "no apparent reason", according to the initial police report.
Doctolero sustained several injuries on his upper back and head after being stabbed three times, and had since received treatment at the Amang Rodriguez Medical Centre in Marikina.
On the other hand, Manio claimed that the victim was the one who hit him first using a helmet.
The police are currently investigating the case.
The former child star is known for his movies like "Anak" and "Ang Tanging Ina", but had since fallen on hard times. He was admitted into a rehab for substance abuse in 2011, and had once been spotted wandering the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in dirty clothes, before getting the assistance from his former co-star Ai-Ai delas Alas.
