Jeslyn Santos wins Miss United Continents

The Bulacan beauty became the first from the Philippines to win the pageant

26 Sep - Philippine's own Jeslyn Santos has become another beauty queen from the country to win a pageant, as she was recently crowned Miss United Continents.

As reported on PEP News, not only is the 23-year-old the first Filipina to do so, she is also the first Southeast Asian to win the title, beating other candidates around the world at the event held at the Palacio de Cristal, in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

"I can't believe it. Thank you," said Santos in her message to fans via Facebook Live after the crowning event.

Prior to her reign as Miss United Continents, the Bulacan-born beauty competed in the Binibining Pilipinas in 2014 and 2016. She succeeded last year's winner, Nathalia Paiva Lago from Brazil.

Denmark's Mette Riis Sørensen was this year's first runner-up, while Lopamudra Raut from India made it as the second runner-up.
