Jennylyn Mercado overcomes fear of noise doing "The Cure"

The actress admits that she has always been afraid of loud noises

23 Apr – Jennylyn Mercado admitted that she has overcome her fear of loud noises since working on her new drama, "The Cure".

As reported on PEP, the actress who spoke to the media about her phonophobia recently, shared that she had always been afraid of loud noises since she was just a child.

"I get scared whenever I hear a loud sound, including fireworks. So every New Year, I would check myself into a hotel, where I feel much safer," she said.

Mercado said that it was ironic that she decided to do "The Cure", especially since the drama had lots of elements of explosions and gunshots.

"Even though I know they were properly set up, I was still afraid. But I overcame my fear by focusing on the scenes," she said.

Mercado stated that her leading man Tom Rodriguez also helped her a lot in overcoming her issues with the explosions.

"Tom's energy is contagious. My fears are somehow reduced whenever I see him," she said.

"The Cure" is set to premiere on GMA's Telebabad on 30 April.
