How Jennifer Lopez met her new partner is so normal it gives us all hope of finding love
We’re often convinced that there’s a secret version of Tinder for celebrities where they can match with each other, and that’s how showbiz romances are formed. But if Jennifer Lopez’s story about meeting her partner Alex Rodriguez is anything to go by, it seems that we were 100 percent mistaken.
We’ve been getting serious #RelationshipGoals from J. Lo and A-Rod (so many Abbreviations…). The couple made their relationship official at the end of March when Rodriguez appeared on The View and he called the iconic singer “an amazing, amazing girl.” Adorable.
Likewise, the two lovebirds have been nailing the trend where their outfits match, proving that they’re some of the best dressed people around.
And while they might be the definition of the perfect couple, it seems that the story of how Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez met is actually pretty normal.
Dropping by The Ellen DeGeneres Show, J.Lo was quizzed by the dancing chat show host about how she became acquainted with 41-year-old baseball legend Rodriguez, and it’s kinda ordinary.
“It’s very simple. I was having lunch somewhere and I saw him as he passed by,”
Lopez said. “Afterwards I went outside, but for some reason I felt like tapping him on the shoulder.”
The singer said that she introduced herself to A-Rod and the pair agreed to meet for dinner one time.
“He texted me, said, ‘Let’s go out to dinner,’ and I said, ‘OK,'” she said, before shutting down some of Ellen’s more cheeky questions about whether they had a sleepover.
“Mama don’t sleep over on the first date,” she said, laughing.
Tbh, this gives us hope that one day we might be having a lunch consisting of a Cobb salad and tortilla soup in which we happen up upon someone we can then start dating. Also, we just love how low key and sweet the whole thing is.
Also appearing on the show were J.Lo’s two adorable children, 9-year-old twins Emme and Max. While Emme sat on her mom’s knee, Max was a bit more rambunctious, hilariously deciding to hide in a box rather than sit out with Ellen.
