With all the recent hype around the Gilmore Girls reunion, our minds start to wonder what other TV shows will come back with a brand new season. Of course, Friends is one of the first ones to come to mind. There were 10 glorious seasons of Rachel, Phoebe, Monica, Joey, Ross, and Chandler, and although we didn’t want to say goodbye, all good things must come to an end. Jennifer Aniston recently chatted about the prospect of a Friends reunion on Lorraine, and she laid the cold hard truth about why a reunion might never work.

Blame it all on the social media of today. Jennifer says the time when she and the other five cast members were shooting Friends was a time when they actually talked to each other, and Facebook and Instagram didn’t rule the world. She thinks “we’ve lost that,” and it would be weird to try to recreate that “nostalgic” time today.

The actress explains, “I think that period of time was sort of nostalgic … There was something about a time where our faces weren’t shoved into cellphones. We weren’t checking Facebooks and Instagrams. We were in a room together, or in a coffee shop together, and we were talking, having conversations. We’ve lost that.”[/subheader]

We are in a puddle of tears right now. In terms of a Friends reunion, Jennifer says point blank, “I don’t know what we would do.” Look, Jen, for the record, we would be happy just watching you guys sit around and drink coffee for half an hour straight, honestly.

Jennifer knows how important the show has been for all of us. She talks about how it’s a source of comfort for so many people when they’re going through a rough time. Jen, you know us so well.

[quote]“It was something that I feel… not only was it a gift for us, but it’s something that people have been able to sort of carry with them. And it’s comfort food, it makes them feel better when they’re feeling down, and when they want to distract themselves they can always… because it is always on, ” Aniston added.

Yeah, pretty much. No matter what, we won’t lose hope. We’re still hoping for the reunion that will rock our world.
