Jennifer Aniston skipped the Critics' Choice Awards on Sunday night so she could spend time with Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow.

The 50-year-old actress took to Instagram to share a picture of herself with Courteney and Lisa, with whom she starred in hit U.S. TV show Friends, alongside the caption: "Hi from the girls across the hall."

The image showed Jennifer standing behind her friends with her arms slung around each's shoulders, as the trio enjoyed dinner out at an unspecified restaurant.

It comes just months after the screen star broke the Internet when she joined Instagram and shared her first picture on the site - a snap of herself with all five of her former Friends co-stars, including David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, and Matt LeBlanc.

Jennifer wasn't the only famous face to miss the Critics' Choice Awards. Brad Pitt was also absent, despite picking up the Best Supporting Actor gong for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

While director Quentin Tarantino encouraged young star, Julia Butters, to take to the stage to accept the award, she was too shy, meaning the filmmaker collected the prize on Brad's behalf.

Michelle Williams also missed the awards ceremony, even though she was named Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for her role in Fosse/Verdon.

Announcing her as the winner of the award, presenter Bradley Whitford joked she "didn't care enough" to attend the ceremony.
