Jeff Bridges Joins Kingsman: The Golden Circle

‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ lands the legendary Jeff Bridges.

The 66-year-old actor took to Twitter to announce that he’s joined the upcoming ‘Kingsman’ sequel, starring opposite Taron Egerton and Mark Strong.

“The only golden circle I want vexing me,” says the rather cryptic image, “is the one my glass leaves behind on the table.”

But who will he be playing?

Unfortunately, Jeff Bridges’ role is being kept firmly under wraps… but the quote, presumably from his ‘Kingsman’ character, seems to suggest a more villainous role.

At the very least, it seems he’ll be going up against The Golden Circle… whoever they are.

The upcoming ‘Kingsman’ sequel follows on from the events of the first film, where rough and ready council-estate boy Eggsy finds himself thrust into the secretive (and highly-trained) world of international espionage.

This time around, the chav-turned-superspy heads to the US to join forces with ‘Statesman’, the American counterpart to Kingsman, after the destruction of Kingsman HQ at the hands of an evil mastermind.

‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ stars Taron Egerton as Eggsy, and Mark Strong as Merlin. They’re joined by Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Channing Tatum, Edward Holcroft, Sophie Cookson, Pedro Pascal, and inexplicably, Sir Elton John.

Despite his character’s death in the first film, Colin Firth is said to return as Harry Hart.

Matthew Vaughn is returning to direct, based on a script by himself and Jane Goldman.

‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ heads to cinemas on 16 June 2017.
