JC de Vera risks going back to work to pay the bills

3 Aug – JC de Vera has no issue admitting that he is back to filming to make more money, after months of no work due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As reported on Inquirer, the actor who is set to star in the new movie, "Mamasapano" alongside Aljur Abrenica, stated that he just has to risk working despite the pandemic just to pay the bills.

"A big factor is the worry that sooner or later, I won't have anything to pay for electric bills if I don't get back to work. There's also the monthly amortisation," he said.

de Vera, who is now father to a baby girl with fiancée Rikkah Cruz, stated that people have to face their fears for the sake of their family.

"Life is tough these days, what with the pandemic and the ABS-CBN shutdown affecting the livelihood of actors like me," he added.

To be helmed by Law Fajardo, "Mamasapano" - which chronicles the 2015 clash in Maguindanao - is set to begin filming in August with the intention of qualifying for the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival.
