Jay Z “misses the old Kanye,” and we’re officially worried about their bromance
So, are we witnessing the slow death of a celebrity bromance? We sure hope not but there appears to be something brewing between Jay Z and Kanye West. In a Page Six interview, Roc-A-Fella co-founder Kareem “Biggs” Burke said he and Jay Z “miss the old Kanye.” Burke also specifically addressed West’s rant about Jay Z’s reaction to Kim’s robbery and North West and Blue Ivy’s non-existent playdates.
“I was shocked to hear what Kanye said onstage,” Burke told the publication during the Reasonable Doubt 20th anniversary pop-up shop on Saturday. “There was never anything rumbling . . . so when you hear these things in public, it’s a little shocking.”
“The last I saw [West], he spoke really highly of Jay,” Burke added. “I’m not sure about the relationship at this point. I spoke to Jay [after Kanye’s rant] and we’re both just like, ‘We miss the old Kanye.’ From what I know of Kanye, he’s usually really honest. So it sounds like something he’s going through right now. He may [say] something like that, and then three weeks later he may be back to, ‘That’s my brother.’ But at this point, with everybody’s career, we’re a little too old for rap beef.”
Sheesh, guys. This pains us so badly. Everyone knows friendship breakups are the absolute worst, but we’re hoping West and Jay Z have simply hit a rough patch that they’ll recover from soon.
