Jay Chou wants Vincent Fang to win Nobel Prize

23 Oct - Jay Chou has a candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature if Bob Dylan doesn't want it, and that would be his lyricist Vincent Fang.

As reported on HK01, the singer-producer, who attended the opening of Mission Hills World Celebrity Pro-Am recently, stated that he didn't know anything about Bob Dylan's Nobel Prize issue, but stated that he would love it instead if his lyricist Vincent Fang could win such an honour in the future.

Vincent, who has worked with Jay since his debut, has written the lyrics to many of his songs, including "Love Before BC", "Wounds of War", "Chrysanthemum Terrace", and the latest, "Now You See Me".

"It would be cool if he could win it. His lyrics are poetic and beautiful, profound and not straightforward. But it's not easy to translate it into English," said Jay.

The singer also expressed hopes that the Nobel committee would one day consider Chinese lyrics as well.
