Jay Chou composes new songs in between concert shows

23 May - Hard work is certainly the key to success, and Jay Chou, who is now one of the top stars in Taiwan, is certainly proof of that.

As reported on HK01, Nan Quan Mama's member Devon Song, who is good friends with Jay, shared recently that the singer didn't even take a break after his concert in Nanjing, and went on to composing new songs soon after the show ended.

"He just finished a concert attended by 5,000 fans an hour ago, and he still has another one on the 20th," shared Devon, who added that Jay went to see him after completing his Nanjing concert so that he could help him compose a song together.

Devon shared that after working together for a few hours, he fell asleep only to be awaken by the sound of Jay playing the piano.

"You know why I am awake now? Because someone is still writing songs at 5.20 in the morning. [...] I was awakened by the sound of his piano..." said Devon.

Jay's habit of working non-stop has been cultivated since his time with Jacky Wu. The entertainer, who saw the talent in Jay, made him write 100 songs in just ten days. After only finishing 50 songs, Jacky selected ten of them and turned it into Jay's first album, "Jay", which eventually won Best Pop Music Album" at the 12th Golden Melody Awards.
