Every now in then, you find something on the internet that truly takes your breath away. Whether it’s an adorable critter, an actually hilarious meme, or some inspiring news, we’re used to searching for good things amidst all the bad that can live online. And now, add makeup artist Maren Bailey to your best of the internet collection, because her looks can sing:

Under the username @teratology, Bailey creates gorgeous paper, tape, and string eye constructs to offset her generally impeccable eye makeup. Though these paper extensions are not technically made using makeup, it’s easy to see how they enhance the geometry and severity of, say, a thin bold cat eye, or can provide a dramatic flourish to eyeshadow blends.

Bailey started making her paper makeup when she was faced with a challenge we all know and hate: She ran out of eyeliner. And now, she’s working to scale up her operation by starting a Kickstarter for what she calls the “Paperize Project.”

today marks the one month anniversary since i started creating paper eye makeup ! 🃏

As it doesn’t appear that Bailey is going to be seeing through her Instagram only at this point, supporting her Kickstarter seems to be the only way you can get your hands on one of her severe, surreal creations. And while she’s not the only MUA to get their arts and crafts on, her looks are in a league of their own.
