Japanese fashion mall LUMINE opens first overseas store and cafe in Singapore
Popular fashion mall LUMINE opened its first store outside Japan on Saturday (25 November) at The Central mall in Clarke Quay.
During the opening party on Friday (24 November) evening at the store, the theme was set to “I AM WHO I AM”, which is derived from LUMINE’s aim to inspire variability in fashion from Japan for Singaporean women.
Lovers of anything and everything about Japan can now enjoy a new shopping and cafe experience. Shoppers can also look forward to additional services such as free alteration, with minimum spending. Here’s what to look out for at the store:
Large retail space
Set in a 10,000 square feet space with clean, simple and modern design, the retail space will feature over 20 different Japanese fashion brands, including popular iconic labels such as TOMORROWLAND, FRAY I.D. and snidel.
The store will also offer items from shoes and accessories brands such Le Talon and roomsSHOP as well as exclusive items from eyewear brand Zoff. This also marks the debut of some of these brands in Singapore, with many being established overseas such as in New York, China and Hong Kong. All items are priced from $29 to $850.
First ever LUMINE Cafe
LUMINE Singapore will also feature the debut of the LUMINE Cafe, the first of its kind. The in-house cafe is a collaboration between LUMINE and Create Restaurants Asia.
The menu includes their signature fruit smoothie parfaits that come in flavours such as Berry Blush, Tropical Blast and Mangoes Crazy. Each smoothie is priced at $12.50. Coffee and tea beverages priced from $3.90 are also available.
LUMINE Lab concept space
Up-and-coming Japanese brands will be featured in a new concept space called the LUMINE Lab. The first collection of brands to be featured in LUMINE Lab are influencer-based ones such as EMODA, MURUA, MERCURYDUO, rienda and And Couture.
Naokazu Kozakai, managing director of LUMINE Singapore, said the space was a “testbed” for Japanese brands, and “aims to share and explore the diversity in Japanese fashion and craftsmanship to Singapore with a vision to create a new fashion culture in Singapore”.
The store is expected to replicate the shopping experience found in Lumine’s 15 branches in Japanese districts such as Shinjuku, Ikebukuro and Yurakucho, but on a smaller scale.
The LUMINE Singapore store is located at Clarke Quay Central #02-20, and opens daily from 11am to 10pm.
