Japan Park at Suntec will be a cultural and entertainment extravaganza

Come August, a Japan-themed festival will be exhibiting the best offerings from the country’s 47 prefectures in Singapore’s first-ever all-in-one event for die-hard and casual fans of Japan.

Japan Park, billed as a theme park-style event for the whole family, will take place at Halls 403-404 of the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre from 4 to 5 August.

Covering aspects such as food and travel, the event will be curated into six different zones: CharaExpo Mini, Discover Japan, Kids Sports, WA-Shiok Gourmet Festa, Discover Japan, Omakase Stage, and Lifestyle & Technology.

Fans of Japanese games and anime can explore a mini game and card game corner at the CharaExpo Mini zone, while meeting voice actors and artists of some of Bushiroad’s most beloved contents such as Cardfight!! Vanguard, Future Card Buddyfight, Love Live School Idol festival.

In the Discover Japan zone, visitors can gain valuable insights from prefecture representatives into how to make a trip to Japan fulfilling and memorable.

Several Japanese restaurants will be coming down to serve up various Japanese food items for visitors to savour as well. Restaurants featured in the WA-Shiok Gourmet Fiesta zone include Bistro Ryu, which will offer black curry, and Fuku-yoshi, which will serve Hamburg steak using Hokkaido’s Kuroge Wagyu.

On top of that, visitors can learn more about Japanese tradition at the Lifestyle & Technology zone, where visitors can interact with traditional Japanese female entertainers and witness live presentations of the Japanese Tea Ceremony held in a tatami room.

The event will also feature performances from renowned traditional dance performer Ukon Nishikawa, singer Kiwako Ashimine, sumi (ink painting) artist OKAZU, and Poppin’Party, a musical group part of media franchise BanG Dream!.

Special appearances will be made by Singapore swimming star Joseph Schooling and professional wrestler Jushin Thunder Liger, a former competitor of US sports entertainment franchise World Wrestling Entertainment.

Early bird tickets will go on sale on 16 June and can be purchased through APACtix.
