9 Mar – Jane de Leon, the upcoming star playing the female superhero Darna, recently dedicated a post to all the Darnas in cinematic history on Instagram.

On 8 March, which is International Women's Day, the young starlet posted photos of the many previous Darna actresses, including Nanette Medved-Po, Vilma Santos, Sharon Cuneta, Regine Velasquez, Marian Rivera, and Angel Locsin.

She wrote, "I respect and salute all these women (and to all the Darnas before them) who became a symbol of a strong and independent Filipina. The voice of their generation who have been continuously doing their part as superheroes behind the costume through their individual achievements, efforts, and advocacies to help humanity and nature in general."

"You are all and will always be an inspiration today and onwards," she added.

Aside from these actresses who have played the character in one way or another, de Leon also included Liza Soberano in the series of photos, despite the fact that the actress had to leave the project before it even begun due to her finger injury.
