Jan Lamb suggests anti-pandemic flower basket for Valentine's Day

14 Feb – Hong Kong DJ Jan Lamb made an interesting comment on his radio show that has now sparked a new trend on Valentine's Day.

As reported on Mingpao, earlier this week the DJ spoke about the recent pandemic and its effect on many celebrations including Valentine's Day, adding that it may be more valuable to present your loved one with a face mask than flowers this year - referring to the scarcity of the said item.

Following the radio show, several flower shops had decided to follow the suggestions and created flower baskets and arrangements that include masks, hand sanitisers, and even supplements. The price ranges from RMB 600 to RMB 1200, according to one report.

Hearing about the new trend, Jan couldn't help but laugh and proposed for the masks to be fashioned into a bouquet instead, while his fellow DJs added that giving a roll of toilet paper may also be considered romantic for these trying times.
