It must be knackering being Jamie Lee Curtis, what with the constantly being chased by a murderous lunatic all the time.

But here she is once again, on set as the embattled Laurie Strode, star of the Halloween movies.

The actress dropped a selfie on Twitter, battered and bruised, as cameras roll on new sequel Halloween Kills.

“NEVER SAY DIE!,” she captioned. “First day back in the battle for my life!#HalloweenMovie #HalloweenKills.”

The movie follows David Gordon Green and actor Danny McBride's reboot of Halloween, released last year by indie studio Blumhouse.

It was the 11th movie in the long-running (and patchy) series, billed as a direct sequel to the first benchmark movie from 1978, effectively trashing all the various sequels since.

On an essentially shoestring budget of $10 million, it brought in a massive $255.5 million, ushering in not one but two confirmed sequels.

This was despite Michael Myers being trapped in a burning basement by three generations of Strodes at the film's climax (though the breathing noises after the credits suggested that perhaps he'd managed to cheat death once again).

Halloween Kills, which will star Curtis with Judy Greer, Andi Matichak and Anthony Michael Hall, lands on October 16, 2020, with Halloween Ends planned for October 15, 2021.
