James Yap says he made effort to connect with son

The basketball player responds to criticism about relationship with son, Bimby

23 Aug - Basketball star James Yap recently denied allegations that he did not make a thorough effort to connect with his son with Kris Aquino, James Jr. (aka Bimby).

As reported on Sunstar, the sportsman, who found himself angering his ex-wife over previous statement about their son, responded to comments made by Netizens on social media about Aquino's allegation against him.

To one Netizen, who stated that he might not have made enough effort to communicate with Bimby, he responded, "Thank you for your advice. Effort? I have done it all."

As for allegations that he didn't contribute enough financially for Bimby, Yap hinted that he was not informed that his son was moved to a new school.

"If you are paying the tuition, but [didn't know] that [your son] suddenly moved school, would you be happy about it?" wrote Yap.

The latest issue between Yap and Aquino sparked recently, after the former responded to a reporter's question about Bimby by saying that it has been eight months since he last saw his son.

Angered by the statement, Aquino fired back in a long post, in which she demanded that Yap stop using his son to publicise his business and to make more effort in connecting with Bimby. She also alleged that Yap didn't contribute enough financially in Bimby's education, among other things.
